This selection was within the recording I made during breakfast at a friend’s house in the Driftless Area of Wisconsin. I’ve never noticed a cardinal repeating this kind of phrase repeatedly. The most audible sounds are this cardinal and a robin making an alarm note. (The bird in the photo is NOT the singing cardinal–that’s an old photo.)
