Laura Erickson's For the Birds

After I picked up my recorder and spread some bird seed for sparrows, I heard a Yellow-bellied Sapsucker drumming on the power pole in the northwest corner of the backyard. When I listened to the recording, he’d drummed quite a bit! Unfortunately, the frequency of his drumming is very comparable to that of the background noise, but it didn’t turn out too bad.
