My friend Nate Popkin took Erik Bruhnke and me out on his pontoon boat to observe and photograph a loon family. We kept our distance and the engine was off, but as one parent led the 4-week-old chicks away from us, the other parent actually swam toward the boat and called several times. I was using my Canon R5 to take photos and a few videos using the camera’s built-in microphone for the audio. This audio was extracted from one of my unedited videos. The only editing I did to this sound file was to cut out camera clicks.
