Sound Recording: Merlin: 3 calls

Merlin has been hunting here regularly during a redpoll irruption, and must have been sitting not far from my office during the first two calls, and then flew off during or just before the third. If you listen very carefully, you can hear a second bird a distance away.

I took the photo next door on February 20. This may be the same bird or its mate–I’ve had one pretty consistent Merlin starting then, and for the past week or so two. I used my Zoom H6 recorder with its XY-stereo microphone, set in my office window.
