Buteo jamaicensis
Order: Accipitriformes
Family: Accipitridae (Hawks, Eagles, and Kites)
Our most widespread hawk is a generalist in habitat and prey. Red-tailed Hawks build a new nest each year; Great Horned Owls often use old nests for raising their own young.
