Icterus spurius
Order: Passeriformes
Family: Icteridae (Troupials and Allies)
America’s smallest oriole doesn’t range quite as far north as the Baltimore Oriole, and mature males are brick red instead of bright orange. Year-old males are yellow but easily told from females by the black lores and throat. Females sometimes look like slightly oversized warblers.
