Melospiza lincolnii
Order: Passeriformes
Family: Emberizidae (Buntings and New World Sparrows)
This softly handsome sparrow is secretive but very widespread, found over most of Canada and the United States, except the Southeast, in winter, summer, or in between. Its song is a wren-like jumble of quietly cheerful notes.
