Chlorostilbon ricordii Order: Apodiformes Family: Trochilidae (Hummingbirds)

This splendid, fairly large hummingbird is called the zunzĂșn in Cuba. Despite its name, it’s not endemic; it’s also found in the Bahamas. This and the Bee Hummingbird are the only hummingbird species regularly found in Cuba. Unlike the Bee Hummingbird, who usually sticks to forest canopies, the Cuban Emerald is frequently seen in natural habitat as well as at feeding stations.
